We are the area’s first and only MRI facility to offer “Cinema Vision,” a video headset that allows you to watch television while inside the MRI unit. This is just another example of how the Hazleton Imaging Center makes every effort to make patients as comfortable as possible. In fact, we offer oral sedation for patients who suffer from aniexty. “Patients can even bring in their own DVD to watch,” said Hazleton Imaging Technologist Thomas LaPorte. “Of course, we still continue to provide the same high level of diagnostic imaging services that our patients and doctors expect, but this new feature definitely adds a new level of comfort to the MRI process.”Magnetic Resonance Imaging, more commonly known as MRI, has become one of the most commonly used diagnostic methods prescribed by physicians today. There are no side effects or pain associated with the procedure. Hazleton Imaging Center offers two distinct types of MRI units – open and traditional. While both produce similar results, some patients feel more comfortable in the open MRI unit. However, the traditional unit features shorter scan times and generates higher resolution images. Open MRI units are better suited for pediatric and elderly patients.
