Hazleton Imaging is an ideal outpatient location for nuclear medicine testing.
Choose Hazleton Imaging Center for your nuclear medicine studies and enjoy the advantages of having your tests performed in an outpatient setting. Typically, nuclear studies are performed in hospitals, which frequently means longer waits and possible scheduling issues.

Hazleton Imaging provides a warm, comfortable environment with a separate, private waiting area in our dedicated Nuclear Medicine Department.

Nuclear medicine provides diagnostic examinations that result in images of body anatomy and function. These images are created based on the detection of energy emitted from a radioactive substance given to the patient, either intravenously or by mouth. Generally, the radiation a patient is exposed to durign this procedure is similar to the amount from a standard x-ray examination.

The patient is given a small, harmless amount of radiated material to ingest or have injected into their system, depending upon the study being performed. That material then basically gathers in one location and gives off energy that the equipment picks up and displays.

Nuclear medicine procedures are used for detecting tumors, stress fractures, irregular or inadequate blood flow, blood cell disorders, and problems with your organs, including the heart, lungs, kidneys, gall bladder and thyroid.

Hazleton Imaging’s Nuclear Medicince Department is accredited by the American College of Radiology, having met all strict standards.
